Barossa Hymnfest Reflection

One reflection on Barossa Hymnfest

Last Sunday afternoon over 200 people filled the Barossa Regional Gallery. As we filled up the auditorium floor, we faced the commanding Valley Voices choir, the Hill and Son Organ, guest organist Steven Kaesler, and compere Richard Ansoul.

These deeply confessional and rousing hymns have flowed to us post-Reformation. Songwriters and musicians, inspired by Holy Spirit, have gifted these hymns and spiritual songs to the community of saints and fellowship of all believers. They have stood the test of time. These hymns have come from all parts of the world and from all Christian traditions.

To attend this event, people came from all parts of the Barossa and from all denominations. Even some tourists from Adelaide visiting the historical displays in the Gallery joined in unexpectedly.

The great spiritual truths of Creation, God’s Grace, New Life in Christ were declared with vigor in the Barossa marketplace beyond the walls of any one church building.

One lady summed up her experience as “This was so uplifting”. Gracious Heavenly Father, bless this gift of $2,258 given for Ukraine Relief, in Jesus Name.

The more I think about it, what happened during those two hours in the Barossa Regional Gallery was quite remarkable.
